Dreams And Their Meanings

Dreams have fascinated habitancy over the years, and from as early as we can remember. The meaning of it, whether it can be used to predict the future or recall previous lives, whether there are incommunicable messages that can be deducted from our dreams, all of these have been investigated and researched at length over time.

It is a well-known fact that we can learn much from our dreams, in case, granted we are open to it. It is foremost to try and compose patterns that recur in our dreams, as these could be meaningful. The meanings of these patterns will be dissimilar for each person, as it needs to be interpreted within the context of that person's contact and situation.

Factors that one could look at in trying to settle the meaning of a dream include:

Dreams And Their Meanings

o The context or environment in which the dream occurs, and its meaning for the dreamer

o The overriding theme/ activity

o Who the players in the dreams are, and their roles, together with the role of the dreamer

o The emotions complex in the dream, especially of the dreamer

o What is safe bet and negative about the dream

o What symbols can be identified in the dream, and what roles do they play.

It is commonly felt that the more difficult or traumatic the dream, the more point it has for the dreamer, and the more meaning can be taken from it. If the meaning of a dream is very unclear and puzzling for the dreamer, it is sometimes worthwhile to just report the dream and only try and look for its meaning a few days later, as it may then make more sense.

Many habitancy find it difficult to remember their dreams, which severely impacts on them analysing the meaning. Sometimes this is just because these dreams have very little meaningful content, but it could also be that the dreamer is not practised in remembering dreams, or does not normally attach great point to dreams. It has been shown that the more point a someone attaches to dreams, the more that someone is inclined to dream, and the clearer the meanings or messages of the dreams are.

Some techniques that may help in recalling dreams include:

o Keeping a dream journal, which means recording all remembered dreams as soon as possible after waking, in as much information as possible, and as completely as possible, as any part of the dream may have significance.

o Lying completely still upon wakening, and focusing on the dream, not letting any other issues/concerns occupy the mind until the entire dream is remembered.

o Be relaxed as you are trying to remember your dream, as the more anxious you are, the more difficult it will be to remember the dream.

o Focusing on trying to remember any dreams that you may have during your sleep time before you go to bed, as this will make the mind more alert and cooperative in remembering your dreams.

Even though this may sound a bit far fetched to some, many habitancy have recorded solving problems with the help of their dreams, or managing to make difficult decisions once they have analysed their dreams and realised what their subconscious feelings about safe bet aspects of a decision was. So why not try?
